23/06/2008 - ATI 4850/4870 IN STOCK!
ATI have brought a challenge to nVidia with their latest generation of video cards. Their $250-ish HD4850 with single-slot cooling gives nVidia's 8800GT and 9600GT a run for the money, and the double-wide HD4870 spanks the 9800GTX handily, even besting the 9800GX2 in some benchmarks. ATI's Crossfire tech means you get to choose from a wider range of motherboard chipsets than SLI can offer, so two of the 4850 cards in Crossfire on Intel P35/P45/X38/X48 or AMD 790 boards should be ideal for running a big monitor, with 2x 4870 providing the fastest ATI experience for some time. We've secured plenty of early stock and have both models ready to ship.
17/06/2008 - 280GTX ARRIVES
nVidia's latest top-end card has landed - the 280GTX. Looking like the 9800GX2, 2x DVI with video out is the standard config, using a double-wide cooler with SLI fingers on top. For very large monitors, 27-30inch in size, it can give higher frame rates than any other current cards. Improvements on the 88-series have given it more efficiency and 2D power consumption can reach as low as 25W. For people on 22inch and lower, you'd do better to look at the 8800GT or upcoming 4850 from ATI.
13/06/2008 - P45 BOARDS IN STOCK

We have stock now in P5Q series from Asus and GA-P45 series from Gigabyte. Click the pic for the list.
27/05/2008 - SAMSUNG MONITOR CASHBACK

27/05/2008 - 300GB VELOCIRAPTOR ARRIVES
It's here! WD's latest and fastest SATA drive, which looks like a very-tall 2.5in drive sitting inside a heatsink the shape of a 3.5in disk. Capable of super-fast 100+ mb/sec transfer speeds and sub-8ms seek times, it's going fast and we expect to have shipped close to 40 of them by day's end. Click the pic for info.

Thursday Update 3/6 - more back instock today
23/05/2008 - NEW LIAN-LI CONTAINER
We've just unloaded a full container of new Lian-li cases, which included a large number of new models - some so new, there's not even pictures of them on the Lian-Li website yet! We're shipping out the backorders progressively today.

The PC-A77 on the left here is a full-tower with room for heaps of drives, and it comes with a fan speed controller/display built-in.
The v1000-series has had an upgrade - the new V1010 takes the look of the classic v1000 and gives it more hard drive bays, better cooling via large quiet fans with fan filters, more noise reduction through anti-vibration rings and fittings, and room for even longer power supplies.
The V2000-series has also had an upgrade, to the V2010, again making room for longer PSUs, better cooling and more noise absorption. This one will take the biggest of video cards, and has a huge 14cm intake fan with speed control for the 8x HDD bays
The economical K7B is now available without a power supply, making it the least-expensive way to get the look of an aluminium case. Featuring the elegant brushed front, top and sides of aluminium, it has a steel skeleton inside to keep the cost below $130 shipped!
If you want to show off your PC's interior, the V1000Z is perfect - it's L-shaped window shows all, and it has a cunning 6-disk SATA backplane that does away with the clutter of cabling that SATA drives normally need. Large intake and exhaust fans keep it all cool, and there's room for long power supplies in the bottom.
The ArmourSuit P80 has evolved! A case for the diehard ATI fan, it features stunning red anodizing, matching red LED fans, and a custom "Spider" window. Coming with 12x 5.25" bays, w/3x 140mm LED intake fans, it has a fan speed controller, and is ready to accept watercooling piping from outside.
People who like doors to keep their drives secure will like the V1110 and V2110 variants - these are similar to the V1010/V2010, feature excellent noise reduction and cooling, and come with a vented aluminium door.
30/04/2008 - NEW XFX GEAR

01/04/2008 - 9800GTX IN DA HOUSE!
Yet another new mid-range Geforce card has arrived from nVidia - the 9800GTX. A step above the 8800GTS, this version is substantially cheaper than the discontinued 8800GTX and sports 512mb RAM in a double-wide form-factor. Similar in size to 8800GTX, it should fit most cases without any issues. Expect a slew of reviews to hit the Net in the next day or so.

They've been selling like hotcakes all day, as we've secured early stock - click the pic for the range
19/03/2008 - ASUS EEEPC IN STOCK!

12/03/2008 - 1GB FLASH DRIVE JUST $0.99!
We're pleased to offer all our new system purchasers from 12th March onwards a handy 1Gb credit-card-sized USB flash drive for just 99 cents!

21/02/2008 - NVIDIA 9600GT ARRIVES
nVidia's latest value gaming cards have just arrived - the 9600GT. Looking essentially like an 8800GT, they are priced well below 8800 territory and perform similarly to the ATI 3870, according to early reviews. A single slot reference design that requires PCI-E 6-pin power, with DVI, HDMI and in some cases, dual-slot with the new DisplayPort, they are good choices for value gaming boxen, and can be used in dual-card SLI.

As usual, we are first with the stock on hand ready to ship, so click the pic to see the range!
28/01/2008 - 3870X2 DUAL-GPU CARDS
ATI's latest top-end card has arrived! The 3870X2 is basically two 3870 GPUs running in Crossfire on one GTX-sized PCB. Early reviews suggest it's equal in performance to, or just below, two 8800GTS cards in SLI when run at high resolutions. Significantly faster than a single GTS, it'll let you build a single-card machine with SLI levels of performance. It's good value if you have a very large monitor, as a 3870X2 costs less than the combined price of two 8800GT cards and you won't need a Crossfire-specific mobo to run it either, whereas SLI requires a relatively high-end 780i board.

Now that the NDA has lifted, we have Powercolor and Sapphire cards in stock for immediate shipping - click the pic!
24/01/2008 - 780I SLI BOARDS ARRIVE
nVidia's new 780i boards are starting to trickle in today - we received the Striker-II Formula today and the P5N-T-Deluxe is expected Friday. These boards properly support 4Gb of RAM and quad-core/1333FSB Intel LGA775 CPUs, including Penryn, along with 2- or 3-way SLI. 3-way SLI is limited to 8800GTX/Ultra under Vista only, as it requires 2 sets of SLI goldfingers per card. In a quick test, we wound up a Q6600 from 2.4Ghz to 3.5Ghz with no changes other than FSB/memory, and it almost completed a full 3DMark run, so with a little voltage tweaking, this may well be the best overclocking/performance solution to date. We've put together a few systems using tested components here.
04/01/2008 - BACK FROM BREAK NOW
We've returned from the Xmas break today to ship all the orders placed over the break, including those placed today. Around 200 orders made it out today, the remainder will go out from Monday as needed stock arrives.

Some importers are still away until Monday 7th January, so some orders and warranty returns may be delayed by a day or two as they get up to speed. Phones will be enabled from Monday onwards.
19/12/2007 - CLOSED FOR XMAS THURSDAY 21/12
Please note we're now closed for this year - we'll return to normal business on 7th January. Orders placed now will ship out when we re-open in January. We expect to be ready for pickup orders from Monday January 7th, although we'll start shipping out orders the Friday before.

We stop taking orders and authorising returns a few days in advance of Christmas to prevent parcels from being lost in transit during the last few days rush up to Christmas day. Almost all of the IT importers close during the Christmas period, so we won't be able to get any new stock or warranty service from them until they re-open either. E-mail and phones will be re-enabled once we re-open
12/12/2007 - NEW 8800GTS IN STOCK!
Yes, another new high-end nVidia card has hit the shelves today - the 512mb GTS!

Basically a refresh of the 320mb GTS variant, it also offers a larger number of stream processors, and is effectively 10-15% quicker than a stock 8800GT. This will be the fastest nVidia card for some months now as the GTX and Ultra are effectively discontinued. We have stock immediately available - click the pic for the list

25/11/2007 - CHEAP NAS?
The guys at XP Media Centre have just reviewed one of our more popular and affordable home NAS units - the N299 from Thecus. Ideal for storing and sharing all your media, even with iTunes, it's accessible to users and media-playing devices like the PS3 on your network. Capable of transferring files fast enough to enable streaming of video and music to your PC for playback on your network. Built-in BitTorrent and downloading clients mean you no longer have to leave a PC powered-on to download in your ISP's off-peak times. You can even get to it from the web using dynamic DNS for handy access to your files when you are not at home. Click the pic for combos with drives included!
12/11/2007 - 8800GT UPDATE
Monday 3/12: Some Asus and Galaxy came today, more Zotac due Tuesday. Importers are still raising their prices, and still punishing their resellers by forcing bundles with other products on a 1-to-1 or 1-to-2 basis to get stock. There's actually stock left over from backorders now, so if you have been waiting on a specific brand, we suggest you have a look at the in-stock cards instead.

As all the cards are essentially mechanically identical , please put as many of the brands you will accept in the one order, so that if any one of them comes in, we will automatically call you during the day - we are no longer ringing people to offer alternatives beyond what they have already ordered. We only take payment when we call you later when stock is available, and prices in all orders will be updated to whatever is current before proceeding.
08/11/2007 - ATI 2900GT RELEASED!
Hot on nVidia's heels, ATI have just released the 2900GT. Taking over from the 2900XT as the top ATI card, the 2900GT is priced well below the nearest nVidia equivalents. Stock arrived Friday! Click the pic to order
29/10/2007 - 8800GT RELEASED!
nVidia's latest video card generation, the 8800GT, has been released. Click the pic for the list.

Thursday update: Now that the other shops have woken up, distributors have 10x as many orders as stock quantities expected to arrive, so stock levels will continue to be poor for the first week. The best chance for you to get a card is to place a pre-order on-line - don't call or email asking for ETA as it is not firm, as small quantities come in every few days. We'll put all placed orders aside and call you whenever stock becomes available.
16/10/2007 - THE CURRENT POLL
We're currently running a poll for our customers regarding the Category List element on the top-right of our front page.

As part of a site redesign that we expect to roll out in the next few weeks, we're moving away from frames to a single page - the Category List adds lot of text overhead to each page (it's about 70% of the total page weight) and would make each page take a little longer to load. If the majority of you say it's not regularly used, we'll take it away in favour of a link to a site map instead.

The site redesign will also simplify the URLs we use for better legibility and forum software compatability, will display a more detailed stock-on-hand number for each product, and will get closer to W3C standards compliance.
26/09/2007 - INTEL X38 ARRIVES!
