AusPCMarket News 27th January 2012

Following on from the HD7970 release a few weeks, ago, AMD are about to begin offering their new HD7950 video card.

Basically a slightly-cut-down HD7970 with less stream processors and slightly lower clock speeds, the HD7950 will come with the same amount of RAM as a 7970, and need a little less power, so only 2x 6-pin connectors are provided instead of the 6+8-pin of the HD7970. Pricing is expected to be a fair whack less than the 7970. There will be overclocked versions that will be close to 7970 performance levels.

Stock is expected to be very tight, so watch this category over the next few days to grab yours. If you'd like to get more pre-release info on these cards, e-mail us.

Until sold out, we have the new AOC e2742phz for just $399.30 delivered, pretty much one of the cheapest delivered prices in the land. As with the Noontec unit, they come with some onboard storage for apps, in this case, 4GB.

Whilst stock lasts, you can have a 1.8m HDMI cable FREE with these, over $9.90 value - just mention you saw this offer in the newsletter when you check out!

Today we have a special for you on a 2-bay Gigabit NAS enclosure from Dotop. This was reviewed a few months back.

This gadget is a standalone network storage device which allows two SATA I/II drives up to 2TB in size to be installed in it's aluminium box, giving you a total of up to 4TB of storage.

Perfect for home users who want to share a movie or music library, or small business users who want a network share for backups and personal files. Whilst this one does not offer the file-transfer performance of the more expensive NAS solutions, you can't go past the price @ a red-hot $88.00 delivered - normally $109!

From the review:

The DoTop 2 Bay SATA NAS is an ideal solution for home or small business users who want to create a centralized location to store and back up information. The setup process is extremely easy and even the most basic of users should be able to have the unit configured and accessing it on their computers within minutes.

Normally $109, today until 4.00PM, or when stock sells out, you can grab one for a red-hot $88 delivered - save $21! You can also add a SATA hard drive from our range.

Intel's new 520 Series SSD give the rest of the Sandforce-based competition a run for their money.

We have the range available in the following sizes:

60GB - 120GB - 180GB - 240GB - 480GB -

Delayed by customs earlier this week, the full range of Das Keyboards is back in stock now, including both the silent and clicky models of the Professional and Ultimate - prices have been slashed, so you now get the cheapest delivered price in the country by far, with no hidden surcharges/insurances etc.

A delivery of Filco keyboards has also been received, and most models are now back in stock - these hard-to-get Japanese 'boards are available in a variety of different colours and keycap styles, compared to the more staid Das. A couple of models are still sold out unfortunately, and will be restocked in February, after the Chinese New year break.

Backorders have all been shipped now - please check your order status online if you had one on backorder.
